From Bukovana Bay on Orlik to Kamýk
15. 2. 2023All in one. Fog on Orlik, Jasno on Kamýk, elevator in failure, horseshoe and Kamýk lock. All in a minute.
There is a permanent campsite in Bukovany Bay. It is especially suitable for fishermen. There is also a boat mooring without a pier and a sports club mooring.
The place is great, except for the rubbish , which people should take with them, but that happens in other places.
There’s a fire ban. Tater’s Hill with a view is part of the bay.
This last stop before our return cruise from České Budějovice was a wonderful end to the holiday. Since we had newly purchased a small inflatable kayak from Decathlon to go with the boat for our trips, we also did a lot of sightseeing with little Richard. There are also plenty of places to anchor opposite. You can also do walks in the area. By boat you can also get to the nearby campground with food , the village of Milesov. There are also more restaurants.
You can buy almost everything in the grocery store. Beware – they do not take cards.
At the campsite you can throw out garbage, get water. Otherwise it’s a big circus for quiet souls, but for those who like it , it’s quiet.
The lift at Orlik was out of order for a while, so we had to wait a while. But as it happens, everything slows down on the water and there is no rush to get anywhere. I like that.
The journey through Kamýk is always beautiful, the Solenice Horseshoe is said to be the most photographed place in the Czech Republic. In Solenice there is also a swimming pub from 1650, formerly a salt transshipment point.
