You wouldn’t throw your rubbish away in your living room

When boating I am constantly surprised by the amount of rubbish dumped in forests , on the banks of dams and rivers. You probably wouldn’t dump it in your living room.

I’ll write you what to bring and how to behave, so that it is not ideal to even know that you are in this place.

If you have a small boat, ideally carry with you, and I mean both nice and unnice fishermen – a waste bag for YOUR garbage, toilet paper, a shovel, do not use wet wipes on anything under any circumstances.

For cabin boats , there is usually a toilet available. For others, a shovel.

Anything you bring to the site you should also take away. I’ve come across some strange products in the woods made of old chairs, sails, plastic. That’s not supposed to be in the woods.

A plastic bag takes 25 years to decompose, plastic cup takes 70 years and a PET bottle takes 100 years. Discarded glass packaging will decompose (according to estimates) in 1,000 years at the earliest. „Gold“ will never decompose, according to experts. Beer cans take 50 years to fully decompose.

Where to dispose of the waste?

Ideally, of course, dispose of it where you live or at a designated place. I believe that the towns around the Vltava Cascade have a problem with the increase of waste in the season. The expansion of public moorings with facilities, with the possibility of disposing of garbage, even for a fee, could be expanded.

I believe that not everyone behaves like this. I have not seen this on European waterways, of course the infrastructure in Germany, Holland, France is on a different level. And that is why we should treat nature, which offers us great relaxation and freedom, better.
