Winner Motor Boats:

More nominations were received this year than ever before, indicating that businesses are taking better care of customers and that customers are reciprocating by letting us know. Said MBA organiser

So congratulations to all our finalists on their great work. It is also pleasing to see so many familiar names among our finalists, many of whom have already won this award or been nominated.

However, this year’s winner stood out due to the amount and strength of praise from customers who have already had to endure the agony of having their pride and joy damaged.

They had this to say about boat insurance specialist Haven Knox-Johnston: „The management of my claim by Haven was seamless and efficient.

„It was as if I was not involved; I made a claim and Haven dealt with the repair to completion, no delays or complaints, a proper job.“

„It is extremely refreshing to find an insurance company that wants to help their customers instead of trying to find an angle to deny a claim.“

„Having my vessel damaged in a collision was a pretty bad experience for me, but the claim settlement was exactly what was needed.“

Finalists Motor Boats:

Brabus Shadow 900 XC, Nimbus C11, Nord Star 28+

Winner Motor Boats:

Brabus Shadow 900 XC

This category is small but filled with some really high quality contenders. The Brabus Shadow 900 won thanks to its unique combination of Axopar pads, bindings of sinister allure and performance.

Mercury Racing’s two 450hp outboards produce power so ridiculously easy that cruising at 40 knots is almost mandatory.

Performance is one thing, but the beauty of this boat is that you’ve got all the all-round trappings of an Axopar 37 underneath, making it incredibly functional and just as happy to fill up with water toys and a picnic for a day at the beach as it is ferrying VIPs. From the waterfront to the swim platform in the role of a superyacht fighter.

The Cross Cabin in particular builds on the synergy between the two brands, as its year-round fast-riding capability reflects exactly what Brabus road cars are designed for.

From the way it destroys chop and swells, to the admiring looks it draws from other boaters and those on the waterfront. It’s a boat that will make you feel special.

Finalists of Motor Boats:

Sport boats up to 30 feet

Axopar 22 Spyder, Candela C-7, Cobra Nautique 9.2m, Dromeas Yachts 28CC, Fugu 29, XO DSCVR 9

Winner of Motor Boats:

Axopar 22 Spyder

For a smaller brand, distilling the best bits of two award-winning models down to the smallest size would seem like a near impossible task, but Axopar has risen to the challenge confidently and created its fabulous entry-level model.

The 22, however, does more than mirror its larger siblings and stands out within the spectacularly successful boat

To make a boat under 25 feet look and feel so grown up. It takes real skill and attention to components and materials. To appreciate where money should and shouldn’t be spent.

Producing boat at this scale at this price point could cheapen the brand if mishandled, but 22 seems expensive in all the right places.

It is essential for a starter boat that it is accessible, safe and very easy to handle on the water, within the confines of a marina and in more challenging sea.

Axopar admits that this was the most challenging design commission. It has had to deal with to date, but what it has produced is truly attractive.
A package that is perfectly suited to his target market.

Highly commended
Candela C7

We’ve been waiting for a ‚Tesla moment‘ in the boating world. It could be the arrival of the Candela C7 all-electric foil.
The C7 is expensive for a day boat, but it takes the game further. And the lin
