Construction of docks in Poděbrady started

New dock for small vessels in Poděbrady

The Directorate of Waterways of the Czech Republic has started the construction of public wharves for small vessels and passenger vessels in the centre of Poděbrady.

Where the floating piers will be barrier-free and tourists will disembark safely in the city centre.

The project is part of a programme to build public wharves on the waterway to promote recreational boating.

It should be ready next spring.

A pier for recreational boats

Over 72 metres long, the pier will allow up to 14 small boats to be moored.

The floating jetty is attached to high-water dikes and special attachments allow it to move up and down with changing water levels.

Flowing water will not threaten the marina during a flood.

Pier for passenger shipping

Located on the right bank of the Elbe behind the road bridge.

Consists of a 9 x 4 m steel floating pier.
